Every hardware product sold through SMTTR is backed by our 3‑Year Extended Warranty — covering manufacturing defects, hardware failures, and included accessories from the date of purchase.
Assembled Computer Systems: Unless otherwise specifically noted, all assembled computer systems sold through SMTTR are covered under the 3‑Year SMTTR Standard System Warranty.
What Does This Warranty Cover?
SMTTR's 3-Year Extended Warranty applies to all hardware products we sell — GPUs, workstation components, accelerators, networking hardware, and complete assembled systems — protecting you against manufacturing defects and hardware failures from the day your order is delivered.
Manufacturing Defects
Any defect originating from the manufacturing or assembly process — including faulty components, PCB defects, soldering failures, and production errors — is fully covered for the entire 3-year warranty period.
Hardware Component Failures
Failures of processors, memory modules, power delivery systems, connectivity ports, and other on-board hardware components occurring under normal operating conditions are covered without exception.
Included Accessories
All accessories shipped as part of the original product package — such as power adapters, cables, mounting brackets, and dongles — are covered under the same warranty terms as the primary product.
Repair or Replacement
SMTTR and the manufacturer will repair your defective product or, if repair is not feasible, replace it with a new or functionally equivalent refurbished unit. Replacement parts may be new or reconditioned.
3-Year Duration
Warranty coverage begins on the date of purchase and runs for three (3) full years. Retain your proof of purchase — it is required to validate and process any warranty claim throughout the coverage period.
Authorized Purchases Only
This warranty applies exclusively to products purchased directly through SMTTR or other authorized resellers. Products obtained through unauthorized channels or secondary markets are not eligible for warranty coverage.
Shipping & Return Costs
Who covers shipping during the warranty process depends on the type of claim and the circumstances of the return. Here is a clear breakdown so there are no surprises.
DOA Returns — First 30 Days
We cover domestic ground shipping in both directions if your product arrives dead-on-arrival or is confirmed defective within the first 30 days of delivery.
Standard Warranty Repair
For approved in-warranty claims after the 30-day DOA window, SMTTR covers the outbound shipping cost of the repaired or replacement unit back to you.
No Trouble Found (NTF)
If a returned product is tested and no defect is found, the customer bears all shipping costs in both directions. We recommend troubleshooting with our support team before initiating a return.
International Shipping
Customers outside the United States are responsible for all shipping costs, import duties, customs fees, and applicable taxes associated with warranty service returns and replacements.
How to File a Warranty Claim
Our warranty process is designed to be straightforward. Follow these five steps to get your product repaired or replaced with minimal disruption to your workflow.
Identify the Problem
Confirm that the issue is a hardware defect or failure — not a software, driver, or configuration problem. Verify that your product is within the 3-year warranty period from the original date of purchase.
Gather Your RMA Information
Prepare the following details before contacting us to ensure a fast and smooth claim:

- SMTTR order number
- Product serial number and model name
- Date of purchase / proof of purchase
- Clear description of the defect or failure
- Steps to reproduce the issue
- Photos or video of the defect (if applicable)
Contact SMTTR Support
Submit your claim through our contact page with all gathered information. Our support team will review your case and respond within one business day with next steps and, if applicable, RMA instructions.
Troubleshoot & Verify
Our engineering team will work with you to diagnose the issue remotely. This step confirms whether the problem falls under warranty coverage and determines the most appropriate resolution — repair, replacement, or further investigation.
Receive Your Repair or Replacement
Once your claim is approved, we will arrange for your product to be repaired or replaced. You will receive shipping instructions, a prepaid return label where applicable, and tracking information for your replacement unit.
What Is Not Covered?
This warranty covers manufacturing defects and hardware failures under normal use. The following conditions and circumstances fall outside the scope of coverage and will not be eligible for warranty service.
Abuse & Misuse
Damage from improper handling, operation beyond rated specifications, physical impact, or any form of deliberate or accidental misuse by the user.
Acts of God
Damage resulting from flood, fire, earthquake, lightning strike, power surge, or any other natural event outside the control of SMTTR or the manufacturer.
Negligence
Damage caused by improper installation, use of an inadequate or unstable power supply, unauthorised overclocking, or failure to maintain adequate cooling.
Unauthorized Service or Modification
Any attempt to repair, modify, or disassemble the product by a party not authorized by SMTTR or the manufacturer will immediately void warranty coverage.
Software & Driver Issues
Failures attributable to driver conflicts, operating system errors, firmware corruption, incompatible software, or user-initiated configuration changes are not covered.
Shipment Damage
Damage occurring during transit that is not reported within 30 days of delivery. All shipping damage must be reported promptly and will be handled under the DOA policy.
Second-Hand & Transferred Products
Warranty coverage is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. Products resold, gifted, or otherwise transferred to a third party are not eligible.
Altered or Missing Serial Numbers
Products on which the serial number label has been removed, defaced, tampered with, or altered in any way are ineligible for warranty service.
Normal Wear & Tear
Expected degradation over time through regular use — including cosmetic surface wear, gradual fan noise increase, thermal compound aging, and connector wear — is not covered.
Data Loss
SMTTR is not liable for any loss of data, files, or configurations that occurs as a result of hardware failure or during the course of warranty service. Always back up your data.
Warranty Terms & Legal Information
The following terms constitute the full legal framework of SMTTR's 3-Year Extended Warranty. Please read each section carefully. By purchasing a product from SMTTR you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
1. Scope & Duration of Warranty
SMTTR ("we", "us", "our") provides a 3-Year Extended Warranty on all hardware products sold through smttr.com or any SMTTR-authorized sales channel. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and hardware failures under normal use conditions and commences on the date of purchase as evidenced by the original order confirmation or receipt.
For products carrying a manufacturer's warranty, SMTTR's extended warranty supplements and extends coverage beyond the manufacturer's original warranty term up to a combined total of three (3) years from the date of purchase. Where the manufacturer's warranty term exceeds three years, the manufacturer's terms shall govern.
Assembled computer systems sold by SMTTR are covered under the 3-Year SMTTR Standard System Warranty unless a different term is explicitly stated in the product listing or order confirmation at the time of purchase.
2. What Is Covered
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship affecting the hardware product under normal use and service conditions. Coverage includes:
(a) Manufacturing Defects — Any defect present in the product at the time of manufacture or arising from the manufacturing process, including faulty components, PCB defects, solder joint failures, and assembly errors.
(b) Hardware Failures — Failure of any hardware component — including but not limited to processors, memory, power delivery systems, display interfaces, and I/O controllers — occurring under normal operating conditions within the warranty period.
(c) Included Accessories — Accessories included within the original product packaging and documented on the packing slip are covered under the same warranty terms as the primary product unit.
(d) Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) — Products confirmed non-functional upon delivery are eligible for expedited replacement under our 30-Day DOA Policy, including covered return shipping for domestic (US) customers.
3. Warranty Remedy — Repair or Replacement
Upon verification of a valid warranty claim, SMTTR's sole obligation and your exclusive remedy under this warranty is, at SMTTR's sole discretion:
(a) Repair — SMTTR or the manufacturer will repair the defective product using new or refurbished parts that are equivalent in performance and reliability to new parts.
(b) Replacement — If repair is not commercially practicable or the product cannot be repaired to full working condition, SMTTR or the manufacturer will replace the product with an identical or functionally equivalent model, which may be new or certified refurbished.
Repaired or replacement products carry the remainder of the original warranty term or ninety (90) days from the date of repair or replacement, whichever is longer. SMTTR reserves the right to use new or refurbished components in performing any warranty repair.
4. Limitations of Warranty
This warranty applies only to hardware products purchased from SMTTR directly or from an authorized SMTTR reseller channel. Proof of purchase from an authorized source is required to validate any warranty claim.
Warranty coverage is limited to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. It does not extend to any subsequent owner or user of the product.
This warranty does not apply to: (i) consumable parts such as batteries or protective coatings; (ii) cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, and broken plastics; (iii) damage caused by operating a product outside the permitted or intended use described in the documentation; (iv) damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not a representative of SMTTR or an authorized service provider; (v) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake, or other external causes; or (vi) products that have had the serial number removed or defaced.
SMTTR's liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product as described herein. SMTTR shall have no liability whatsoever for any other losses or damages.
5. Data Loss & Software Responsibility
SMTTR is not responsible for any loss of data, software, configurations, or stored information that may occur as a result of hardware failure, warranty repair, or product replacement. It is the customer's sole responsibility to create complete backups of all data and software prior to submitting any product for warranty service.
Software support is explicitly excluded from this warranty. This includes but is not limited to: operating system installation or reinstallation, driver configuration, firmware updates initiated by the user, software troubleshooting, and compatibility issues between the hardware and third-party software applications.
SMTTR may provide limited general guidance as a courtesy, but such assistance does not constitute warranty service and does not extend or modify the terms of this warranty.
6. Disclaimer of Other Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THIS WARRANTY AND THE REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, REMEDIES, AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN, STATUTORY, EXPRESS, OR IMPLIED.
SMTTR SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL STATUTORY AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND WARRANTIES AGAINST HIDDEN OR LATENT DEFECTS. TO THE EXTENT THAT SMTTR CANNOT LAWFULLY DISCLAIM STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THEN TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY AND TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT SERVICE AS DETERMINED BY SMTTR IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by jurisdiction.
7. Limitation of Liability
EXCEPT FOR THE OBLIGATIONS SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY, IN NO EVENT WILL SMTTR, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS WARRANTY, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT SMTTR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN ALL CASES, SMTTR'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY YOU FOR THE SPECIFIC PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply to you.
8. How to Obtain Warranty Service
To obtain warranty service, contact SMTTR through our support page before returning any product. You must provide: (i) your original SMTTR order number; (ii) the product serial number and model; (iii) a description of the defect or failure; and (iv) proof of purchase confirming the product was purchased from SMTTR or an authorized reseller.
SMTTR will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number for all approved warranty returns. Products returned without a valid RMA number will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender at their expense.
For products covered by an individual manufacturer's warranty (such as NVIDIA® products), you may also contact the manufacturer's customer support directly. For NVIDIA, visit nvidia.com/support. SMTTR's warranty service is independent of and in addition to any manufacturer warranty you may hold.
9. Right to Modify Warranty Terms
SMTTR reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue the terms of this warranty at any time without prior notice. Any changes will apply exclusively to products purchased after the effective date of such modification and will not affect the warranty terms applicable to products already purchased.
The current warranty terms will always be published on this page at smttr.com/pages/warranty. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued purchase of products from SMTTR following any posted changes constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This warranty is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this warranty that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California. Both parties hereby consent to such jurisdiction and venue.
If any provision of this warranty is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from state to state and from country to country. Where local consumer protection laws provide rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights are not affected by this warranty.
